School Climate Survey Summary

Dear Parents and Guardians,

At the September Education Committee meeting, we shared the results of the Deer Lakes School District’s recent School Climate Survey (March–June 2025). This survey helps us better understand the perceptions of our school community, focusing on school climate, student support, and social-emotional learning (SEL).

Areas to improve:

  • Better communication with teachers

  • More support for diverse learners

  • Stronger teacher responsiveness

Staff reported they feel safe and believe they are effective at supporting students.

Areas to improve:

  • Social-emotional learning (SEL) opportunities

  • Addressing student behavior and self-regulation

  • Ensuring fairness in rule enforcement

  • Expanding staff voice and influence

Community members expressed confidence in school safety and believe educators care about students. They value the partnership between schools and the community.

Areas to improve:

  • Promoting fair treatment of all students

  • Welcoming more community input

  • Improving communication about school progress
