Deer Lakes High School is pleased to announce that the junior/senior prom will be held on Saturday, May 3, at the Pittsburgh Marriott North in Cranberry. This year’s theme is Midnight Masquerade. The community is invited to the promenade that will take place at 4:00 p.m. in the Deer Lakes High School auditorium. A suggested donation of $1.00 is payable at the door. The donation will benefit the Deer Lakes High School student activity fund. Deer Lakes High School is located at 163 East Union Road, Cheswick, PA 15024.

Deer Lakes Director of Curriculum and Technology Mr. Angelo Furiga is pleased to announce that Deer Lakes School District is one of 50 schools in Allegheny County that will receive free Kindle Fire HDX 7” tablets from the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation and Allegheny Intermediate Unit 3 (AIU3) who teamed up on a first-of-its-kind initiative – “Tablets in Education.”

Deer Lakes Seniors Participate in Annual Cager Classic
Cager Classic remains mainstay of Alle-Kiski basketball
Congratulations to seniors Christina Grzybek and John Carnprobts who will be participating in the 18th annual Cager Classic all-star basketball games on Saturday, March 22 at Highlands High School. The girls game begins at 5:45 p.m. and the boys game begins at 7:45 p.m. The Skills competition will take place on Friday, March 21 at 7:00 p.m. Admission for the Games is $6 for adults and $4 for students. Family Art Night, held on February 20 at Curtisville Primary Center, was a fun family event for students in kindergarten through fifth grade and incoming kindergarten students. It was sponsored by LPEP and co-chaired Deer Lakes elementary art teacher, Mrs. Kortnie Mackowski.
Snow Make Up Dates at Deer Lakes
The Deer Lakes Board of School Directors approved a revision to the school calendar to include April 17, April 21, and May 2, 2014 as snow makeup days for January 28, January 29 and February 5, 2014 when school was cancelled due to the cold temperatures and/or snow.
